Do I really need a will?

The number of people who die without a will is astounding. Death is inevitable; nonetheless, few people are legally prepared to die. If you die without a will, the State will decide how your property will be dispersed and who will be the guardians of your minor children.

Preparation of a will is inexpensive and only a phone call away. I charge $500 per couple for a Will Package which includes a Last Will and Testatment, a Power of Attorney and an Advanced Directive / Living Will for each person. A Power of Attorney gives power to a person / entity to handle your affairs if you become unavailable or unable. An Advanced Directive/ Living Will allows you to give your directions regarding end of life decisions.

Some people incorrectly think a download off the Internet is a sufficient way to draft a will. It is important to know that Oklahoma has specific laws regarding the ways in which a Last Will and Testament must be executed in order to be valid.
